Stew4msu 12-17-09, 11:10 AM $29.99 CoreyM 12-17-09, 11:38 AM Bought G-Force and Inglourious Basterds at Target last night, was nice to see they had no problems running the $5 coupons on a single transaction, though the cashier did have to override the redplum coupon (it said missing item for some reason). I don't know if this has been mentioned and it isn't a great deal but Best Buy.com is giving away the Hangover with select Blu-Ray player purchases. I bought a player for the bedroom last week and I was hoping I could get them to give me the disc in store, but I guess its online only so they say I have to buy it online then return the original player (no biggie since its still in box waiting for Christmas). This seems dumb from their perspective though as they have to do 3 credit card transactions rather than just give me the disc. Oh well. Chris Kane 12-17-09, 11:42 AM amazon Lightning Deal at 10am (Pacific): "Trio of films" from Kevin Smith. Guess I'd better read the reviews on the likely other two as I've only seen Clerks. ck SC0TLANDF0REVER 12-17-09, 12:14 PM I love how Iron Man has went from $25.99 to $19.49 and back multiple times in the last 2 days. Buffyfaith7 12-17-09, 01:03 PM amazon Lightning Deal at 10am (Pacific): "Trio of films" from Kevin Smith. Guess I'd better read the reviews on the likely other two as I've only seen Clerks. It is the Miramax Kevin Smith 3-Movie Collection: Clerks Chasing Amy Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back Only $38.99, a really good deal IMO....64% claimed in one hour so far, hurry if you want it before it sells out! GmanAVS 12-17-09, 02:05 PM Alright, wtf was I thinking.... my total with tax was <$13..... shame on me! So who has tried this yet? : TinkerBell, have Target PM Best Buy's $16.99 print ad (today's NY Post insert) -$10 Disney Manf. Cupon (enter code "gift" on DisneyRewards.com) -$5 Target Blu Ray cupon = $1.99 I'll be going later after work.... this is becoming an addictive sport :p Gman Bob Black 12-17-09, 02:48 PM Wife trip to target…. Price match transformers $14.99 -$5 International $14.99 -$5 Heat $14.99 -$5 Inglorious $19.99 -$5 Public enemies (not best price) 29.99- $5 Two $3 mfr coupons One $5 mfr coupon (for buying inglourios and public together) I was able to get Target to price match Wal-Mart's $19.96 price on Public Enemies last night. Got it for $11.99 after the PM, manufacturer's coupon and store coupon! I printed out the entire list of in-store BD's available at $19.96 at Wal-Mart and shoved it into their circular...the woman never raised an eyebrow. For anyone that isn't so lucky, it is again $19.96 next week and in the actual flier! Also at that price are; - Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince - Transformers 2 - Star Trek - G.I. Joe - Ice Age : Dawn Of The Dinosaurs - X-Men Origins : Wolverine (Combo Edition Picture) - District 9 So you should be able to get any of these at $14.96 (throw in the manufacturer's coupon for Public Enemies at $3 too). Target also has Taking Of Pelham 1,2,3 beginning on Sunday for $19.99, so I will be getting that for $14.99 after the coupon. Be sure to get these before Christmas eve when the Target coupon goes bye bye... bori 12-17-09, 04:24 PM Where are they selling tinkerbell for 19.99? deltasun 12-17-09, 04:37 PM I'm pretty sure he meant Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure bori 12-17-09, 04:44 PM I'm pretty sure he meant Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure Yes u are correct. deltasun 12-17-09, 05:13 PM In that case, it's still at $16.99 at Best Buy. ckc6125 12-17-09, 05:49 PM Does the Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day typically start at 12am the day of the deal? Ive been using multiple $5 discounts in the same transaction but last night they had to do 6 seperate transactions. Oh well. I think I had to pay tax on the original amount or something because mine came out to around $3.05. I picked up WAR for 4.99 while I was there too. The BB price is only good through Saturday, though, so you'll have to hustle. I expected it to be shouted down, frankly, but I hoped it might go over better than asking for the incessant chatter about gaming the system to stop. It would certainly make it easy to skip posts that don't have new deals in them! Personally, I don't care about "deals" that involve driving, standing in lines, and spending significant amounts of time in order to save a few dollars, especially if they depend on how some cashier interprets a coupon. I would love to be able to scan this thread quickly for new deals that aren't just another variation on that theme. Thus the suggestion for adding a "headline." If you search blu-ray like I do on Amazon you will get the same or similar search results, and definitely be offered the same price. I check Amazon at least a few times per week on Blu-ray deals and if you do as well you will see similar deals that I get. Its worth a check. NetworkTV 12-19-09, 04:09 PM That's the spirit, you'll teach them a lesson when those gift cards expire & they get to keep the $110 & you get nothing! Since this post got revived in the last post above mine, I guess it's OK to point out that you were responding to someone who lives in Connecticut. State law here prohibits the expiration of gift cards and the assessment of regular fees from the balances. You can pretty much sit on a gift card or certificate indefinitely without penalty. I think the BB ad you have expired 12/19 and the 12/20 BB ad has the Blu-ray at 29.99 (or 2 for $40 when buying with a selection of 5 others), Target may not pricematch since I'm pretty sure all of Target M vs A Blu's are the Blu/DVD combo which are a store exclusive. The $3 coupon wasn't widely available yet or maybe not at all. This thread has single handedly doubled my blu ray collect in the last month or so. 42Plasmaman 12-22-09, 09:20 PM Actually if you look on the forums in the first link you'll find deals on there before they show up on AVS. A lot of chatter on there but deals have their own threads unlike AVS. And we are bound and gagged to look in this thread for deals and can no longer handle it. :p Please..... stop posting all these great deals because it's killing my wallet. (I'm sure the chatter will die out after the holiday coupon/price match manipulation is over.) Remember, this thread is a privledge and if it's to much effort for people to sift through the chatter, no one is forced to browse this thread. It's a choice. DIRANONI 12-22-09, 10:24 PM I agree. But all the OT posts about other OT posts are really getting tiresome. Of course, then there's this post... OT about OT about OT. Anybody follow that? In any case, my pocketbook hates this thread. SHORYUKENSF4 12-23-09, 12:05 AM So, I went to my local Targets and notice many good blu ray movies got sold out. I ended up blind buying District 9 with my last $5 coupon. I know I can get more coupon, but I don't know which one is worth to buy. Do you think Hangover is really worth it? goonstopher 12-23-09, 12:25 AM So, I went to my local Targets and notice many good blu ray movies got sold out. I looked 4 places for it, 6 including blockbusters You are right, it's sold out at my local Targets. I assume I'll find it if I go to the bigger Targets in a few more miles away. According to RottenTomatoes.com, Hangover has 78% rating while Distrinct 9 has 90% rating. 78% rating is pretty impressive for a stupid drunk comedy movie. inaka 12-23-09, 01:47 AM NEW DEAL Patton $9.99 @ Amazon Partyslammer 12-23-09, 02:29 AM Just saw the 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray set of CE3K at Costco for $14.99. The real focus of AVS is on the tech. side of the HT hobby and how to improve the performance of our systems. This deals thread is a courtesy to the membership. There are a number of reasons the owners want the focus on tech. discussions on not where to buy and what price. If you are looking for that type of discussion there are a lot of other forums where that is the focus. Let's get back on topic. TyrantII 12-23-09, 10:15 AM But again, this might not work either. My Target for example, insists on not only the actual ad, but the complete ad. If I brought in one page from the ad, they wouldn't accept it. Not only that, but my Target was trying to argue that their 3 disk special edition of Trek was a special edition and didn’t warrant a price match to Wallyworld. I had to argue to have them call up. Sure enough it’s the same “Three disk” product (Damn you movie marketers). Then they tried denying the coupon, but they finally took it. Guess I got the lady on her bad day. Guess finding competent help is hard too, as she had no idea about their polices or price matching and was fighting me the entire way. Always wondered why some retail workers make it into a fight, when we here are following their corporate policy to the T. soul embrace 12-23-09, 10:20 AM Guess I got the lady on her bad day. I purchased "Band of Brothers" at Costco on Blu last week, then had to go back to Costco for their Price Protection Guarantee which got me a $15 cash refund on BoB to match their sale price. I had previously found out about CE3K through this thread, and was able to go back into the store and purchase it with my $15 refund, and only had to pay the sales tax out of my own pocket. Just thought I'd share this as a way to express my personal appreciation for this thread. Slightly OT, but is CE3K the only Spielberg film that's currently on Blu?
