There is a $10 discount for any movie over $20 when you pre-order Toy Story 3 at Toys R Us.

So you can pre-order TS3 and your cost comes out to:

$23
-$10 pre-order coupon
-$10 Disney "upgrade" coupon
+$5 pre-order for Toy Story 3

$8 for the movie.

So when TS3 does come out, assuming it will be $25:

$25
-$5 pre-order cost
-$10 Disney coupon (almost a guarantee as there has been one for every BR recently)

$18 out the door for both BATB and TS3.

Those are not online discounts. Only in store.

There are pre-order cards for Toy Story 3. If you pre-order TS3 get another $10 off another Disney movie. Note: All TRUs may not have these pre-orders in store. Mine didn't have them out yesterday but I called today and they have them.

Buy BatB for $22.99, use the BatB $10 coupon (print from previous link in this thread), and when you pre-order TS3 you will get another $10 off BatB. You don't have to use the $10 discount on BatB as it can be any Disney movie (even a DVD) but BatB makes it the best deal. You will have to put $5 down for the pre-order of TS3. Hope that helps.

It's TRU's standard in-store deal. They've been doing it for about 2 years on Disney releases (and some others).

Since the $10 Disney coupon expires on 10/09/10, that would cost you at least $5.

Mine expires 10/12/10, which is enough time to drop their price the following Sunday (10/10/10). When did you print your coupon? My coupon had the exact same thing as dragion's.

Exactly... With the manufacturer's coupons, Disney makes it VERY attractive to buy on release day/week vs waiting. Not too many Disney movies on Blu drop under $20 even after a couple of years.

In fact, I don't think I've seen any under $15 (at least not the good ones)... which means they never really get any cheaper than release week w/ coupon applied. You can look on blu-ray.com, but I've gotten Snow White for $19.99 at Best Buy, and "Wall-e" went as low as $14.99 on Amazon (It was even cheaper at Costco but that's always YMMV).

Anyway, I'm still calling BatB at $19.99 opening week - same thing happened to "Up", "Snow White", heck even "Saving Private Ryan" and "Iron Man 2". I'll see if they drop the price that weekend and if not, I'll get it anyway with my -$10 coupon and another -$5 Best Buy Rewards Zone certificate.

Toy Story 3 has an MSRP of $45.99 instead of the usual $39.99. It's possible that will cause the TRU price to be higher than $25 when it comes out. I always found it interesting that TRU wants people to pre-order movies without telling them how much they're actually going to cost.

The computer will let them do it. The only way it wouldn't work is if the associate refused to scan the $10 Disney coupon. I don't think that is very likely since the $10 pre-order discount is automatic and doesn't require an extra coupon.

Did they actually scan it? I would think that all the TRU stores use the same point of sale system, and it's been ringing up at $22.99 for all the reports that I've seen.

If I can't get a good deal on TS3 from TRU in November, I'm still happy since I got BatB for a great price!

They each have a specific bar code, so you'll need to download the print program. Not a big deal and comes in handy several times per year.

I believe that program you have to download is what generates the individualized coupons. Annoying for sure; I hate installing things on my system. I installed it on my computer at work ;)

BTW the Disney upgrade to blu coupon for BATB is no longer live. I clicked on the link they sent me in September to print the coupon and was told the deal was expired. Tried it several times with no luck.

I'm assuming it's because it's been replaced with the $10 off coupon that's available to anyone (www.beautysave10.com IIRC).

Well it worked. Went into TRU and they had plenty of BatB at $29.99. The register took off $7, I got another $10 off for pre-ordering TS3, paid $5 deposit for that, got another $10 off for my Disney coupon. After tax I paid $9.10.

If it turns out there's a better deal elsewhere for TS3, I'll still consider nine bucks a good price for BatB. I'm happy.

It's not actually a straight BOGO. I bought the first two seasons of Breaking Bad, at $32.96 for the first season and $38.09 for the second. My total at checkout, however, was $35.52. It seems that buy buying two items at once, the price for each item is cut in half - which means you don't have to screw around with finding items that match up in price to get the most out of your dollar.

Can someone tell me how to actually use the BATB coupon program? I downloaded the installer, ran it, and then clicked 'Finish.' The program closed, and nothing came up. I have no idea where it saved the thing on my computer. I tried to re-open the BATB link, and it says that I don't have the coupon installer downloaded.

This is driving me completely insane.

Try using a different Web browser. And did you try again after you closed and re-started your browser last time? Also, make sure you have the permission on your system to install programs. You may have to log in as an administrator.

"in-stock" is the key. It was applying it to an item I had in my cart, but when I went to place the order later in the day, it stopped applying it to Minority Report which was now "out of stock". I noticed the same thing on other items.

I think only titles with the "fall leaf 20% off" graphic will get the discount. What's weird is that I would swear that they're changing the discounted titles from day to day. Yesterday, I'm pretty sure Minority Report had the leaf, right now it doesn't :confused:

my local blockbuster here in Southeast PA is closing out. They said they were notified by corporate on 10/5, but were not allowed to anounce and begin liquidation until today. Its ashame to see it go as I went there often for my in store exchanges and the occasional buy. Pre-owned blurays are marked off 15%. Many were not that great of a deal yet at 15% off.I picked up Risky business, Batman gothan, batman begins and pineapple express for $8.50 plus tax (9,99 less 15%). Others like Gattica were 12.99 and zombieland were 16.99.

Surprising, the BDs were often better deals than the DVDs. The DVDs were selling for 9.99 each. First day and the store was stocked. Fortunately, there seem to be alot less BD watchers than DVD watchers in my area so I think I can afford to wait a week or so.

I used both netflix and blockbuster online.

FWIW The current price for Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 is about $5 cheaper at Amazon UK than on Amazon US ($31.99 vs $26 and change). However, I can't tell if the UK versions are region-free.

Never had any issues with discs/cases etc. Previously viewed can be , but not always rental only discs vs used should have all discs included is the one distinction to keep in mind.

WB Shop online has some decent movies for $7.50 including the first 4 Batman movies and Twister. I also had added them to my "cart" to see what the shipping would be but it didn't tell me right away so I backed out. Next day they sent me a coupon for $5 off. Couldn't pass up the Batman Anthology (without the box lol) for $25.
I added code WRNRBLU for 10% off. There are other codes, but I only wanted the first two Batman movies so I didn't have enough items to allow stacking of more codes.

Total for the first 2 Batman movies was $18.50 shipped. Not bad since Amazon has been selling them for $15 each for quite a while now.

Harry Potter years 1-6 box set on amazon uk for U.S. $34 plus about $4 for shipping (the price of the box set will drop a bit once you go to checkout).

They also have the Lord of the Rings Trilogy for about $30 including shipping.

You can actually also add The Matrix trilogy for 60 ppounds plus shipping.

This review talked me out of it though for LOTRs

There is the "2-Disc" and the "combo pack". The $8 coupon is for the combo pack only. If Target accepts the coupon it will be a cashier error. So guys/gals please don't post "I got X store to take the coupon". The coupon is intended for a certain item, so if there is a store that accepts it in error...that's not a deal, it's an error and doesn't belong in this thread.

DomNY, I know that was not your intention, but I thought I'd bring up the topic, because it's a natural course the the thread will take.

Each printed coupon has a unique barcode, so it's probably going to be difficult to find a scanned copy. You may be able to uninstall and reinstall the coupon printing software. Not sure if that will work or not.

For what it's worth, I just called my local TRU and asked what their price will be on TS3 (4 disc) tomorrow. They said it will be $29.99 for release week and then go up to $34.99. Looks like I'll keep my Amazon pre-order in place.

Hmmmm... minus $5 down and $8 coupon... $16.99... not terrible. If I equate it...

$16.99 + $9.00 (BnB) = $25.99 ....$12.99 each. I can deal with that.

Does TRU price match? Basically the $5 down makes it the same as Frys and some others. Best Buy has some discounts when purchasd with TS3.

Yeah, it's still the best deal if you pre-ordered at TRU and you don't have the Amazon $16.99 pre-order deal. But Amazon's a better deal for me since there's no tax.

That's the 2-disc Blu-ray only version. Not sure if there are better deals out there for that. The best deal for the 4-disc combo pack if you didn't pre-order anywhere is $24.99 at most places (Best Buy, Target, Amazon, a penny less at Wal-Mart).

Sound of Music at Target for 19.99 and there's that book packaging that it's encased in. The website says it's "only available online", but it says that about every version of the movie online. I'm sure hoping that deal is available in store because the book looks really great.

Just an FYI, TRU's price is $34.99 for Toy Story 3 (unless you're store has a special deal). There are promos to get a free wall clock, free popcorn tin, and if you spend $40 on Disney movies at TRU you get a $10 GC but all the other major retailers have the combo packs for $24.99. And don't forget you'll pay tax on the extra $10 cost at TRU as well (for you cheapies out there ;)).

On Slickdeals today I learned that if you are a Rewards R Us member, you may have received an email containing an online coupon for 15% or 20% off of one regular priced item from TRU or Babies R Us. The coupon is good only for today (Nov. 3), however.

There is speculation that this coupon can be used to purchase the Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack, along with Disney's $8 coupon.

I posted this in the Alien Anthology thread. I wasn't sure where it belonged. Forgive me if this is old info.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered the Alien Anthology from amazon .uk. When I bring up the item it shows the same price it always has...37.49 pounds. When I place the item in the basket it shows 31.91 pounds. postage of 3.08 brings the total to 35.00 pounds.

Converted to US currency it totals $58.53. Is this about the same deal everyone is getting? It surprised me, seeing the lower price in the basket.

Ok,here goes a deal:
Toystory 3 bluray combo pak purchased at Bestbuy $27.21 with tax
$8 coupon from Disney = $19.21
$5 rebate on Toystory from buying 3 Campbell kid soups (I paid $3.00 total less $1 coupon and these are soups I eat) = $14.21
Free Ironpak (I don't care about) from Bestbuy I’ll hopefully sell on ebay for $12 (final price I hope to get after commission and shipping) =
Final cost of $2.21 or if you count the $2 for the soups = $4.21

If I can't sell the Ironpak I'll still be happy at $14.21 which is cheaper than the $15 each I picked up Toystory and Toystory 2 for a while back on Amazon.

+1, but be careful because the $5 off did not automatically come off when I purchased both as stated in their flyer. The cashier had to manually adjust one to $14.99. Coupons worked though.

Ah, too bad I did not see your posting until this morning! I had gone to Target yesterday, but price tag on the shelf said that The Sound of Music was $24.99 so I did not even bother to check to see if they would accept the $2 off coupon. I have used several of the Disney coupons at Walmart and Target with no problems. The only place I had a problem was Best Buy when the coupon wouldn't scan. They entered it manually.

By Walmart corporate policy they should take the coupons though that doesn't mean some stores/managers won't balk -- almost 100% chance if you call National Customer Service you will win that argument.

Walmart Printed Toyland booklet in paper today still has TS3 listed at $24.96 (11/7-11/24) so that seems to be the only cheap place left to get the set and use the coupon which expires 11/8/2010 -- since it is in print Price Match at Target and other places that PM shouldn't be too hard.
