It seems like my TV is getting darker, is this how a light bulb die out by getting dimmer and dimmer? And how do I verify that it's the light bulb? Anyone has any suggestions? Thanks.:cool:

Yes it is a symptom of my degrading bulb.
The origional bulb in my HL-P4663 lasted 2 1/2 years and at the end I had to have the brightness set at maximum for each interface for decent viewing.

Thanks for the reply, if it's not the bulb it's still OK, I need a spare anyway. I bought mine in 2005, so it's due anyway. :cool:
