I am sceptical if Tai Seng manages to bring this HK flick to Blu-ray with good PQ and AQ. Any reviews out there somewhere?

Any reviews out there somewhere? Rathbone raoul_duke 06-19-08, 08:45 AM I believe that it's hard enough getting hold of Tai Seng's discs in the shops, never mind a review copy. I'm looking forward to this disc, a fun little film. Tai Seng's blu rays have been a pleasant surprise, I have their Initial D disc and it's the same as the Hong Kong disc, save for all the extras translated and subtitled in English. I believe that their Dragon Tiger Gate disc is BETTER than the HK disc, which was on a BD-25 with no extras. Tai Seng went with a BD-50 and transported across the extras from the 2 disc set. xradman 06-25-08, 12:56 AM This was a fun movie. The PQ is very good and AQ in dts HD MA 7.1 is outstanding. The disc was BD50 and the movie was encoded in AVC with very healthy bitrates. All the special features also had English subs (although they were in SD, not HD). I have been very, very impressed with what Tai Seng has managed to do with their Blu-ray releases thus far. lgans316 06-25-08, 01:28 AM I have watched 3 Asian movies in the past few weeks 1) CJ7 - Average Movie. Good~Excellent PQ/SQ. No replay value. 2) Dragon Tiger Gate - Below Average Movie. Good~Excellent PQ/SQ. Can be watched couple of times. 3) The Assembly - Above Average Movie. Average~Very Good PQ/SQ filled with ship load of white specks. Zero replay value. I have no idea on how House of Fury will fair in comparison to the above. wormraper 06-25-08, 01:43 AM I have it, got it today from Amazon. Overall PQ is about a 7/10 and AQ a good 8.5/10. Nothing fantastic but great PQ and AQ all around. A fun movie too. Not to be take too seriously. Tai Seng has a DTS-HD MA 7.1 track as well as a 7.1 PCM track as well. Both are fantastic (as well as a DD 5.1 english dub *yuck*). |
