I have searched for the answer to this and haven't found anything definitive.

I have read about just buying a bulb being a problem because of "flanges" that are different and will not allow the bulb to fit the housing. I have read people saying that it is easy to put just a bulb in the housing "it's just 4 screws". What's the real scoop on this?

There is a large price difference in buying the housing plus bulb vs. just a bulb. Please give me your experiences &/or opinion.

My set = WD52628

Bulb = 915P026010

BTW, I have read that you should only buy the OSRAM bulbs. I plan on doing that, I just don't want to buy a stupid bulb that will not fit my housing and I do not want to waste money buying a housing that I do not need if it is a simple matter to put a bulb in the housing. Help please! TIA

i've done both for a wd 62525.

i bought the first one from mits directly so it came new oem $200 then they gave me a $75 refund check to help.

when it needed another lamp i bought an Osram bulb only off ebay for like $135 total which included one day express shipping. yes four little screws and a couple on the end of the lamp and i replaced it and had to disgard the paper frame around the back but it worked fine. at least until now it looks like its dead weight with the capaicitor issue that is becoming prevelant on these sets.
