I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to control a PS3 or HTPC, specifically browsing and playing music, with an iPhone, iPod Touch, PDA, etc. over wifi or bluetooth. I'm aware of BD Touch, which looks nice, but it seems like they are focusing on blu-ray playback.
I'm not talking about streaming music, because Remote Play (PSP) does that already. I want to use a device to browse and tell my PS3 or HTPC what songs to play through the receiver the audio output is connected to.
I want this so I can select songs from all over my house and back yard as I have distributed audio.
There are some interesting applications in the works, but nothing that seems like a solution. Here's what I've found so far that involves use of a wireless device with 2 way communication to PS3, HTPC, or similar sources:
AirRemote (this was on the AVS main page not too long ago) (http://www.cepro.com/article/airremote_for_iphone_greatest_little_tv_remote/)
Google's Telekinesis (http://code.google.com/p/telekinesis/)
NetBlender's BD Touch (http://netblender.com/technology/bdtouch_home.asp)
ngRC (http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/251541.aspx)
I've heard Apple may bake in an application on the new 3G iPhones that will allow the iPhone to remotely access iTunes on one of your computers, but I'm not clear if this will only stream a song to your iPhone, or if you can tell your computer to play music locally.
AirRemote looks nice, but it relies on IR components or expensive control systems to interface with.
NetBlender's BD Touch seems the most promising, but details are scarce beyond Rlu-Ray movie info.
Does anyone know of a way to do this?
