The TV in question is an Sony SXRD XBR1 series and I'm facing a problem I've been unable to find a solution to. So, simply put, is there a reason why the 'normal' mode would be un-selectable and forces me to select from the remaining choices. The ultimate result of this is that when I am watching from a widescreen source is the cutting off of a few inches at the top and bottom of the screen since I am forced to use the 'full' setting as a compromise.

Can anyone point me to a fix for this or if there is a series-specific thread I should post this in tell me to do so.
