I am getting my second Panasonic 50pz80u delivered tomorrow. My first one last friday came in and the screen was cracked in several areas...must of been dropped by shipping company. I will be inspecting it with a fine tooth comb when it comes in, but is there an easy way to spot any cracks? If I turn it on, would that make it easier? The cracks that were in the last one was easy to spot seeing how there were so many. I hope the delivery guy has some time on his hands....since I am paranoid from the last time.

A quick sharp tap with a hammer always brings the cracks out so you can see them very well
I think cracks usually are pretty easy to see if they are there, also I would say that cracks are rare and you just got unlucky with the first display delivered. Glass is glass and breakage will occur when handled rough but the glass is fairly strong and not easily broken when handled correctly.

Simple, turn it on and if it works, there are no cracks. A single crack, even in a hidden location, will let air in and cause the screen not to work at all.

In theory, you could have cracking on the surface of the glass only (not going all the way through the glass pane), so that might not be a foolproof test.
Always a good idea to power it on before the delivery people leave if you can, though.

yup use a flashlight and check it carefully and then power it on. if it has a hidden crack it will be compleltey doa or make a loud buzzing sound with no pic.
