My Panasonic 42PX80U is being delivered today via CEVA. (Shipping company Amazon uses) I'm a bit paranoid about physical damage caused by shipping. Am I understanding it right that I must inspect it before they leave and once I sign I'm SOL if the screen is cracked and I didn't happen to notice it before signing?
If so, the delivery guy better have some time on his hands because I'll be checking every inch of it before I sign.

Its pretty easy to tell if its cracked. When I rec'd my PN50A550 from them 2 weeks ago the screen was totally shattered. Unfortunately they refused to take it back saying you have to call Amazon to have them arrange it. Kind of ticked me off, but I called them and they very nicely arranged to send another one and the damaged TV would be picked up when the new one arrived.
So when the new one came the guys inspected it and I did as well before accepting delivery. Of course once again they didn't want to take the old one back but I insisted and told them to call their supervisor w/ my order # and after a 20 min conversation in their truck together they agreed to take the damaged one as well. Not as great an experience as others have had on these boards, but everything eventually worked out. Still tipped them $20 for their hard work of course!
ps: my nearest CEVA location was their JFK - NYC branch and I can't really reccomend them too much.
Glad to know Amazon handled it really well despite CEVA's refusal to take it back. So far my experience with CEVA's customer support has been really well. I called them once my TV was in the area and they setup an appointment for the next day. I called this morning to confirm the appointment was still on and the rep even went out of her way to call the delivery guy and ask him to make my TV his first delivery of the day. (I didn't even ask!) Of course all this is moot considering they haven't arrived yet. My local CEVA is at BWI - Baltimore, MD. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid and everything goes smoothly. Thanks for the reply! :)
