NEVER MIND. Saw that Lifetime went with the box, so called Tivo support and they told me it was "active", but not lifetime. Sorry, wish I could delete the old message below.

Hi All:

Would someone advise how to check if a Tivo Series2 Dual Tuner for sale at a local Goodwill for $12 has a lifetime subscription or not?

As far as calling Tivo or using their website, it looks like I have to give identifying information which may bring up the issue of whether I'm a new customer and subject to transfer fees.

I've got the Service Number, Model Number, and MAC number off of the back.

I have not bought it yet (don't want it unless it's lifetime [maybe for the 80gb drive in it]), so I can't just plug it in and see what happens.

It's not likely someone gave away a lifetime Tivo, but who knows?!
