I am debating between the LG-60PG30 and the Samsung 58A650. I was at Video Only this evening and saw them side by side. The Samsung was a bit brighter, but the LG is 2 inches bigger and last year's model was rated right up there with the Panasonic. Prices are relatively similar, they had the Samsung $300 more, but I'm sure I can find equivalent prices online. That said, can anyone suggest which TV is better?

I watch a lot of sports and play PS3 once in a while. Otherwise, it's just general sitcom watching in the evening. The audio isn't much of a factor as I have an external audio setup.

Thanks!

The sales guy suggested the LG even though it was cheaper and he's on commission.

I happened to be in a showroom today and found the PG30 to be fairly comparable to the 650a.

That said, I also found the PG60 to be, IMO, significantly better than both the PG30 and 650a.

If you do some smart shopping and negotiating, you can probably find a way to trade up to the PG60 and remain in your budgetary range. In addition to improved adjustments, the PG60 uses the edgeless design that won it a CES Award this year. Might be worth checking it out.

If you'd like specifics around my buying experience, pls feel free to PM me. There's also a pretty detailed owners thread that's worth checking out.

Good Luck,
