I have an ATLAS OCAP 5 remote with Learning and I am unable to program it using the instructions in the manual. It states that you start by pressing the device key once (i.e. DVD, VCR, etc.) and the remote will blink once. Here's where the trouble begins because the remote blinks 6 times. It then states to press and hold the setup key until the remote blinks twice. It has one long blink. No matter what I try, I am unable to program... any help?

Although I do not have this remote, I glanced at the manual. See the last paragraph I pasted below. You may have an incorrect code (misprint in the manual?).

The info below was pulled from page 10 of the manual.

On the remote control, press a device key once
(i.e., VCR, DVD, AUD, TV, or CBL); it will blink
once. Then press and hold SETUP until the
selected mode key blinks twice.

Use the “Manufacturer’s Codes” starting on
page 28) to locate the type of device and
brand name and then enter the first four-digit
code for your device. If performed correctly,
the selected mode key will blink twice.

If the selected mode key emits a long blink,
the entry is invalid. Repeat steps 2 through 3
and try entering the same code again.

It's possible a 6 step macro is on the setup key. To do a complete reset, try a short press of setup then press and hold setup for two blinks. Then press 9 8 1, and you should get two more blinks. It should work normally after that. More setup instructions (better than the manual) are in my sig.
