I keep reading that these cards will be available 'soon' and that some people actually found some, but I can't find any official word about when they will become widely available (especially up here in Canada). Does anybody have any info?

Yea I'd like some info on these too. I want to be able to scoop up psn titles at a reduced cost like the xboxers by finding them on sale or using 10% off target coupons :D

this is the main reason why I am interested, I really wouldn't want to have my c/c with the PSN store also considering how much other personal information on me they have... cmon, I want to get some more rock-band songs :)

Just go to a bank and get a visa gift debit card, some stores and malls sell them too. You can go online and register a name and address on the card so you can then make online purchases with it, you also do not have to put your name and address on it, you could make something up, as long as the name and address you set up on the card matches the name and address you give during the purchase of online funds for the playstation store, it will work.
