Hello. First post. My question is, I enjoy using Eye Create for video editing (I do not own a PC, and I'm trying to have my PS3 undertake all PC functions once I install Linux), but I'm having a slight problem. In order for me to capture video, I need to use the Playstation Eye camera. In order to do this, I need to aim it at another monitor, which is less than ideal. So I'm wondering if there is a camcorder on the mmarket with a USB connection that the PS3 will recognize when I'm using Eye Create. I'm currently using a Panasonic VDR-M50, and it's not being recognized.
Ideally (well, almost by necessity), the camcorder would need an AV input on it (my current Panasonic has one). Or do you think it might be possible (or does one even exist) to use an RCA (video and/or audio) to USB converter? And if so, would the Eye Create recognize it?
If I'm stuck aiming at another monitor with my camcorder, I'm guessing it would be possible to get an RCA (audio) to USB converter (I'm guessing something like this exists, as the Rock Band mic goes to USB, as do cetain newer turntables), so, bare minimum, I can get better sound quality instead of the Playstation Eye camera's microphone picking up the sound from the TV speaker. Any help on this would be appreciated, but please do not tell me, "Just buy a PC."
