I just got a new Vizio VP504F Plasma TV and I'm trying to get its universal remote to work my new Sony STR-DG820 AVR. There was an error supposedly in the printing of the Vizio manual so no codes are listed for any brands. I called Vizio and they gave me the following codes: 11100, 10000, 10650, 11925, 11904. None worked. Can anybody help me? Using two different remotes would require me to burn far too many calories. :)

Does the Vizio manual list any Sony AV boxes? If so, try them.

Edmund, you rock! That works. I can now turn the Sony receiver on and off using the Vizio remote. However, for some reason the volume button on the Vizio remote doesn't control the volume on the Sony Receiver. Any way I can get that working?

try the following to get the volume working in just that Audio device:

1. aud or aux
2. press and hold setup for two blinks
3. enter 9 9 3
4. press vol up

Edmund, thanks for the information on the Vizio remote and Sony receiver. I've been trying to achieve this for awhile now.

I too have been looking for this code for some time as well. Thanks! My Harmony remote has some buttons that are starting to fail so I'm hoping to replace it with the Vizio Universal Remote. Not quite as nice as the Harmony I don't think but I already have it so it's worth a try. Now I'm off to see if there is an answer to my other question here!
