I had a bad experience with 2 of the early generation Sony touchscreen remotes (xx-1000 series, I think) and am hesitant to go for a fancy universal again. I'm wondering how close I can get to using a single remote if I limit myself to Sony BraviaSync units.
I have a 40XBR4 LCD and will be buying a new Receiver and disk player, perhaps DVD, perhaps BD. I have a Scientific Atlanta HD/DVR box. If I end up with 2 remotes - one for the cable and one for everything else I can live with that since I hate having to do multiple button pushes for commands that are currently 1-touch. For example, the cable remote Guide or List of Recorded shows or 10 second replay are buttons I push way too often to go through an extra click for.
I guess what I'm asking is whether BraviaSync is good or just a gimmick. Secondly, is a Harmony an efficient tool or a gadget that's evolving into an efficient tool.
