I'm in the market for an HD camcorder. I'm leaning towards the SR10 and will most likely purchase it from a local electronics store unless persuaded otherwise. What is the general consensus on purchasing an extended warranty? I assume it may not be a bad idea since there is an onboard hard drive. By the way, this is my first camcorder purchase. I am going to be using it for home videos mainly of my daughter who is due in a month!

Also, how reputably are the "cheaper" online stores as suggested on pricegrabber.com? Any info on buydig or abe's? Seem to be about $200-$300 cheaper.
