Is it possible to independently control two DVRs, both located in the same media closet? I'd like the great room TV and the media room to both be able to access either DVR without the remote control signal interfering with the viewing experience in the other room.

Try this thread to get an idea of how you can independently control multiple (same) devices: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1030339
Of course, this would require an upgrade to your remote (an RF-based remote with assignable IR outputs like a Harmony 890 or an MX-series remote from URC).
In the absense of a remote upgrade, I'm not sure if there is another way to do what you are asking (unless your DVRs themselves have multiple codesets that you can assign to each box).

This will be two FIOS DVRs.
I was also wondering, if I buy a Harmony 890, can I get a second remote without paying full price? I'd need two remotes with one base station if I understand this solution correctly.

I believe you have to go with the 890 Pro if you want to use more than one remote with one base station. I am not 100% positive on that though. The 890 pro is purchased seperately from the base station.

Tivo allows you to set the DVR and remote to control DVR 1 or DVR 2 so that either remote could control either DVR and you could switch between the two on the fly. I believe you can control more (up to 9) but that using 3-9 require more key presses.

My two Sony DHG's work perfectly with my One. There is usually an option for remote control with the unit itself, does the Fios manual make any mention of different remote codes?
