Like others, I have been struggling while editing with Canon Imagemaker with a clunky computer (2.8Ghz dual core, 2GB RAM). When in edit mode, the video was 3-6 seconds behind which made it almost impossible to edit.
I considered buying a faster video card, but was told that the Imagemaker software has no provision to offload processing to the card, so the card would not make a difference.
I tried something easy last night that payed off. I rebooted the PC, then turned off some resident programs like anti-virus, email filtering, scanner monitor, etc. THe difference was very noticable and editing was MUCH better, although still not great.
