I am very keen to find out whether the 'Sony ECM-HST1 Stereo Microphone' is compatible with the SR12. I have looked at the attachment in the shop and it appears it would fit in the shoe of the SR12 but I didn't want to go and buy it without being entirely certain it will work with it. I've opted for this mic instead of the shotgun one because it has a 'dead cat' (wind reducer) plus I have read reviews that it is much more effective in capturing sound. I have looked on the sony website and it does not list the SR12 as being compatible with it, but I am thinking this may be because the SR12 is a new product. They have listed that the HST1 works with the SR7 & 8 & 10 do they not have the same connection as the 12? (http://www.sony.com.au/dis/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=22268) If anyone could tell me whether it was compatible with the SR-12 please let me know.
