Is native SD recording possible with HF10/100? I think I read somewhere that it is supported on Sony SR-11/12, but want to know if same is true for Canons. Thanks in advance.

Sony only feature.

I think you may get better results shooting in HD and transcode post process though, as some have pointed out on this forum. But if you're looking at the fastest camcorder->DVD experience, this would be it. The Sony's SD format is MPEG2 DVD-compatible, so you don't need to transcode, which means that the DVD authoring is mostly a copy operation, which can be done in a few minutes.

Thanks, that is what I thought. For a quick shoot and distribute, this feature is very useful.

I'm still waiting for a Divx 1080i/p HD feature!
