Just wondering how easy it is to do horizontal shift on the Sony? As we know vertical lens shift on this baby is motorised but horizontal requires manual adjustment using screwdrivers and the like? Any experiences?

didn't care as its in dead center. Never knew horizontal shift is manual....never the less if I am not mistaken its just 5% horizontal shift...so never bothered

Correct. Horizontal shift is practically non-existent.

You need a long philips screw driver. If you remove the lens surround, you'll see 4 screws (each corner). Loosen those, and the lens will slide side to side. As others said, it is minimal help.
