I have a 3 year-old Panasonic PT 7000 3-chip. I was thinking of getting one of the new one-chips, but I've been waiting for increased lumens. In the meantime, I've gotten a Lumagen Radiance scalar and the picture is now excellent. Just goes to show that resolution isn't everything, although contrast is still important. the Lumagen has really maximized the picture, to the point that I can wait til the next new wave comes out.
Another interesting thing is that the LENS may be worth more than the projector. Go figure.

That's good to hear David. Sometimes, tweeking the projector you have ( and / or buying a new bulb ) turns it into a whole new machine. Without having to install ( and pay for ) a new projector!!

Congrats! Yes, though resolution is certainly factor, it is often made out to be the end all be all. There are many 720's that will outperform some of the 1080's.

Regardless...enjoy! :)
