View Full Version : IR noise problem with LCD vs Dish 722

Hi all,

I did some searching but I am coming up with a bit more expensive options then I would like.

I just picked up a new LCD and my Dish 722 is getting bogged down with IR noise while the LCD warms up. My other components are working fine. My components are housed just above my TV in the same armoire w/ no obstructions (no glass etc)

I’m open to any solution.

My first try was the LCD’s built in IR receiver w/ a 3.5mm jack out back for a blaster/emitter. I plugged in a Xantech emitter and “black taped” the 722 so no stray IR made it in. Unfortunately, the IR receiver passes the LCD IR noise on too…so much for a $15 fix.

I started looking at a “plasma friendly” receiver set up but having a hard time finding a set up for less then $200. I only need a 1 emitter set up that would “filter out” the IR noise from my LCD.

Any help would be appreciated:

1) finding a less expensive option or confirmation that this is as inexpensive as it gets
2) If this will even work ie Dish’s remotes operate in the same range as IR noise
3) A better/easier solution

Thanks!!!!
