Are size and weight the only real differences b/w SR11/12 and upcoming CX12. I mean, if you wanted to only use flash, then you could use SR11/12 as CX12 by either disconnecting the hard drive or simply not using it. But SR11/12 gives you more flexibility by allowing you to write to hard disk or flash, so that should be a positive, not to mention, it is available now. Am I missing something, or CX12 provides something above and beyond in the feature set, like the new sensor that is more sensitive in low light situations?

u r missing something

smile shutter facility -

With Sony's unique Smile Shutter technology you can capture smiling photos and record video at the same time. When activated this will detect and automatically take a photo when your subject smiles, without having to switch to photo mode or press the photo button.

It also features child and adult prioritization so you can capture photos when your intended subject group smiles. This camcorder can even detect and capture a smile while in standby mode.

i dont think SR11/12 have this edge
