I have a nice theater now with seperates for everything and we are moving into a house with a much smaller area. I have two concerns in this new build.
The electronics will be in the side of the room instead of being in the front as they are now.

My distance from the 58 inch Samsung Plasma to the electronics (HDMI) is about 20 feet. Will the distance be a problem?

My Berkline theater seating will have to be as close to the rear wall as possible. How should I install rear speakers with our ears being nearly 2-3 feet from the rear wall?

I also need to get rid of the monster speakers now which are over 2 feet wide and 5 feet high for something much thinner, maybe max 14 inches and the height doesn't matter. They would be connected to a Pass Labs X350 which is 350 watts at 8 ohm per channel. Please any suggestions would be appreciated.

1) 20 foot HDMI run isn't a problem
2) mount high and point downward, but it depends on the size of the speaker.
3) might want to poke around in the speaker forum a bit, might find better suggestions there. Speakers are mostly personal preference if you ask me; some people love how Klipsch speakers sound but I can't listen to the usually for extended periods of time without fatigue. Your best bet is to audition as many speakers are you can and start to narrow them down.

Ditto on the HDMI run...no problem at 20' under normal circumstances.

You're going to be pretty close to that back wall...might want to think about softening it up with some bass trapping...otherwise you'll likely get some low end buildup back there. Just a thought.
