I am looking to rent an HD projector for a vacation house for 2 weeks.
My only option seems to be the LG RD-JT91.($80 for 2 weeks with a screen from Rent a Center)
We have to get a light system-We're not transporting a heavy tv!

Is this ok for use with a PS3? We wanna watch movies(dvd and Bluray) and play Rock Band.
Does it have the proper inputs for an HD picture? I think the top res of this model is 1080i

Thans fir any help!

A quick Google shows it is only 800 x 600 so it will downscale your source to that resolution, which is a 4:3 ratio by the way - not widescreen.

So does that mean it is not an HD projector at all?
Will this make movies look like crap?

I know little about this, sorry for the noobishness

Well, the native resolution is what computer monitors were quite a number of years ago. I guess DVDs would look okay as long as you can accept the fact that the aspect ratio is the same as plain old fashioned SD television. Blu-ray and HD games on the PS3 might look pretty pathetic though.

According to Projector Central, it has component and DVD-D inputs.

Well the fact that it can accept HD signals via component and/or dvi-d is a plaus. If you don't have it yet, just "rent" some universal game cables with component inputs, like this

and plug the audio cable into a boombox for sound. Costs around $15

At best it will take the hd def signals from the ps3 and the projector will downconvert them into its native resolution. Set the ps3 on the display settings to accept 480p, 720p and 1080i (only) and the you'll get the best image you can on this setup
