Ive looked and searched for some sort of DVD i can download (any format/video file) so that i can optimize my LCD tv viewing in my specific room... like calibrate black levels, contrast, brightness

does this type of optimization dvd exist??

I've heard that Digital Video Essentials is the best software. (Which is why I bought it. :D) Not sure if it's available to download though.

Do a google search for monitor calibration. I found this in about 5 seconds. http://epaperpress.com/monitorcal . There are other places with tests patterns and tutorials.

I have at least one DVD that has a THX optimizer on it that does similar to this.
