That could have some cool possibilities. First thought I have is to use them for "Now Showing" graphics. You could easily find movie art for whatever show is playing and have it in a lobby.

Or, you could take a group shot of every movie event in your theater and have it cycle through those?

thought about this too, maybe cycling through Dolby, THX, DTS signs, etc, since just buying those signs alone would cost more than a nice digital pic frame. add in a now showing, that would make it even cooler.

Neat idea on the Dolby signs...

Im thinking maybe a 'showing soon' picture frame... placed vertically in the lobby area... and then if some smart mind could write a little program that checks my Blockbuster queue :) and pulls the image from the DVD cover.... I know some pic frames are wireless. Just dreaming here!

I made this diorama for fun, but I am considering using the display for trailers. Its hooked up to a boombox underneath the coffee table so I have audio as well

Not sure I'd even want a digital picture frame in my HT.

When a movie is playing it would certainly be a distraction. When a movie's not playing, there's nobody in there anyway.

Agreed, probably more suited for a Lobby area... but also inside the HT you could use some sort of sensor movement switch :) So it only powers ON when someone walks past that specific area...

EDIT: Something like this (http://www.alwaysbrilliant.com/aa/aspx-products/1-222/2-52341/SC-Froogle/kw-15674/bb/Motion-Activated-Wall-Switch.htm) would work perfectly... (if concealed somewhat).

I bought an 8" LCD digital frame today, and have put some of the Coke Screenplay slides in it... I'm gonna take some pics of this in action. It looks very sleek! I also put some THX type logos etc. Gorgeous...

OK, here is a creative use of picture frame from me:

Acoustical Panel with embedded flush picture frame (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1061122)
