Have there been any announcements about LED lamps or other technologies coming to projectors anytime soon? I want to go FP, but I'm holding out a bit to see if some higher lamp hour projectors come out in the next year.

Texas instruments just released some info on new LED DLP systems, so that is promising.

I haven't heard of anything else that is really "on the horizon"...others may know more.

LED and laser are going to be the next best things. LED isn't quite bright enough for front projection (at least for the sizes most people want)...yet. They are hoping to have them out soon. Laser is still prototype and will probably be a while off before we see any real units.

So, I wouldn't wait for them unless you aren't in a hurry.
