I just bought a new Samsung A650 LCD. The sale guy suggested buying what I believe him saying some sort of Power filter.... He said you run your DirectTV and Power into this power filter. Said this would help the TV last longer because it's getting good clean power 100% of the time. Meaning not subject to power surges or brown outs. He also said this makes sure the LCD gets the best signal.

This all sounds good, I just have no idea what exactly to go out and get. If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be a great help. Thank you.

I just use a standard PC UPS, has built in suppression. We have really bad lightning here and it has worked fine for years. I use an APC brand unit, about 900 watts if I recall, my sound system also has one. As do all my PC's
