I'm looking to get your opinions on which tv to get, the Samsung pn50a450 or the Panasonic 46pz85. The Samsung is and the Panasonic is. Right now I don't have a blue ray player to take advantage of the 1080p, but may get one down the road. Screen size they would both be plenty big enough for me. I guess I'm a little stuck on this decsion and could use some swaying to one or the other. Thanks.

For some reason I didn't see this post up on the boards, I appologize if it did.

if the panny was a 42 i would tell u to get the samsung but its a 46 hMMMM

i believe that screen size is more important than PQ but 4 inches isnt that big of a diff.

tough question

honestly about a year ago i would have gone for the 46 but now i really want a 50...

# 1 reported problem from consumers is they always buy their tv to small

Thank you for the response. I actually went back to the store to check them out again. I thought the Samsung was a little sharper, but looked a tad grainy, while the Panasonic seemed a little smoother. It really is a tough call though because their cable feed is so bad. I ended up going with the Panasonic due to possible plans for blue ray and from what I've heard they are the leader in plasmas so I felt a little more comfortable with their brand. Plus I've seen their Panasonic display tv with a still picture on it for like a week straight and it has no image retention. Over the next few days I will compare it to my Sony xbr crt tv and decide if it is a keeper or not.

46pz85u; or even 50px80u (this set matches more closely with the pn50a450).

Get the 85. 1080p and has the best blacks you can get outside of pioneer.
