I have attempted to use my PT-AE1000U projector as a 1920x1080 resolution display on a laptop VGA output (60hz). I have attempted to do so with three different laptops, and two different VGA cables. I consistently get an image that is scaled and is not 1:1 with the native resolution of the projector.

If I use a VGA cable 1280x7200x60hz works fine…
If I use a DVI - HDMI converter with a HDMI cable 1920x1080x60hz works fine…

I’d like to be able to use the VGA input for 1080p, any suggestions as to how? I’ve done several searches, but cannot seem to find anyone with this problem.

Thanks,
Chris

Not the best projector if your wanting to use VGA......

I would of suggested against it.

Your not the first to have issues with it. Picky, finecky, ect..ect...

I always have had to resort to 720p with it.

Interesting.

I primarily use the digital inputs, but I like to have the VGA available, thats all. Has anyone come up with a solution (specific settings, cables, etc?), or is it just not usable?

At 720p, I find it quite use-able.....
I guess you don't want to run it that low?

I mean, for even BD use, it looks fine when feeding it 720p. Proper aspect and all that.

When I am feeding VGA, it is just for computer use. It ends up looking the best and being most functional with the higher resolution, thats all.
