Here's a video. Seems to be a high quality golf game:

I played the demo earlier and if you enjoy the Hot Shots Golf game series it's pretty similar. It looks really good and the courses I played were pretty fun. 36 holes seems to be a good amount of gameplay and with more courses promised in the future it seems worth the 800 points.

It's a decent little game. Obviously don't expect a Links or TW quality game since it's only 800 points. I can't see it as a game anyone will spend alot of time playing but it is a fun time waster. It looks like for single play there are just 2 courses with only stroke play. You play in a one round tournament against AI opponents.

Online play (local and Live) has stroke and match play. Also, there is coop online play. I played one online game and it was stroke play. Everyone plays the hole at the same time and it just shows a little marker for where each players ball is located. Unfortunately in the one game I played, someone left the game and it sent everyone back to the main game screen.

The game itself is not bad. Do not miss the fairway or else you will not be able to hit the ball too far. There is no grid or anything to read the green. You can hit the X button to see the line to the hole. It is limited by the number of seconds you have in your Focus skill. You can use that time for either ball spin or putt line.

Overall it's not a bad little game I just don't know how much replay value there will be after the initial fun wears off. I guess it depends how many courses they come out with for DLC. If you have the points on hand I would say go for it.

I played the demo...it's fun, but like others said I just don't think the replay value is there with only 2 course. They will release more, but obviously that will cost more.

Sooo basic. Like hot shots 1 basic. Save your ten bucks for a game like tiger that is truly next gen

Im getting pretty excited for Tiger 2009.........I havent bought since 2006 (which was garbage), and theres a lot of new features since then. Im just hoping the online goes smoothly, especially with this new system where everyone plays the hole at the same time until you finish the hole, then you can spectate those who still havent finished. Not sure if I care for the whole Hank Haney thing though, and the dynamic skills. Id rather just earn points like in 2004 and max out and create a monster golfer. Im a serious golfer in life but I have fun with the arcadey side of Tiger.

Maybe EA should skip a year since Tiger is out?

Hmmm... I wonder if they might support the new motion controller?

New Tiger does look nice. I like the new online mode as well.

this is taking dead aim and hot shots golf on the ps3 and for the price does a damn good job.... esp when compared to the "full" price for hot shots on the ps3. for 10 bucks this is a steal compared to hot shots. i was also really impressed with the graphics considering the whole game was just over 100 megs.

as others have said staying on the fairway is crucial to this game..... and i agree on the greens (not having the grid made it far more difficult but i do have to say not having that grid makes it alot more realistic). i forgot how much i was leaning on it in tw.

i personally can't believe that they haven't come out with a Links for the 360, considering how great the original one was to play for the original Xbox, and how popular it was. i just blew TW out of the water back then...

Links is by far the best golf game I have played. The Dev team was broken up and from what I have read, it doesn't sound like Links will resurface. Definite shame.

Check out this link and read the posts by IndieGames. His name is Daryl Welsh. He was on the IndieBuilt team and was great for the Links community. He ran three Beat the Dev tournaments when Links came out. Winners received a free Xbox game. He really kept the Links community informed on the game.

Check out what they were working on for the next installment of Links. Like others posted in that thread, it brings tears to the eyes knowing how damn good that game would have been.

I didn't really have an issue hitting out of the rough. If you hit the swing with a lot of power and are accurate on the back end, along with compensating for height and wind, the rough doesn't seem too much worse than the fairway to me.

Also, the green does have a sort of grid. There are concentric rings around the hole that move showing you the slope of the green in all directions. It's not quite as easy as a grid, but I like it better because I think the grids (or the caddy suggestions in TW) make things way too easy.

Man, I wish Links was one of the games released in the Xbox Originals category.

I've been really enjoying the game -- very similar to the Mario Golf games on the GC, but not as crazy :)

Links was one of the best golf games I have played in years. I would love it if someone would copy the multi player tournament options. I enjoyed playing a four round tournament that actually took four days. Being able to squeeze your round in during the day when you had time was a great asset.

It's backwards-compatible;http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm
You can find it for 5 bucks at Gamestop.
