I have an 8" energy s8.2 subwoofer in my room and the speaker in it broke so i was wondering if it would be better to replace the speaker or just buy a new sub altogether. If so what midgrade sub would be compatable with the amp currently in my box.

Upgrade!! You can get a very good 12" internet direct subwoofer. How much are you willing to spend with shipping included?

Budget? Room size (in cubic feet)? Volume you like to listen at? Apt or house? What are the dimensions of the box in question? You may be better off with a new sub. Were you happy with your current sub's output before the driver quit?
