I am sure there's another forum for this, but since their are alot of good editors here, I was curious if anyone multi-tasks their large HD videos on the final render. I don't own a quad core, but if I had three identical C2Duo machines with Gigabit network, how could I segment the project to distribute the load? Thank you.

I'm not sure how it works, but I've seen an option in Sony Vegas Pro to do this. I would guess Vegas needs be installed on all the machines (I don't know if you need a license for each installation, but I would guess so).

On a different, but related note, I wish Sony would release a program to use their PS3 (that has been marketed as one of the most powerful home computers) to "assist" when rendering. Some thing similar for the PS3 has been released for the Folding At Home project on the PS3, and I know the PS3 is one of the fastest folding computers out there.
