Last night, my buddy and I were going to play madden. It was a hot day and the power might have been spotty. My non falcon 360 would power up. The falcon kept starting, but freezing up. Is it a power issue or something else. We decided to watch a movie. What should I do tonight? Curse and pray? Is there a system reset or a cache I need to empty?

I now have 3 red rings. Is that rrod or just a missing setting? Is rrod 4 red rings?

3 lights are RROD. What do you mean by power being spotty? Did you not have your 360 on a surge protector? Try removing your hard drive and then start the 360 and see if it stops. A friend of mine tried that when he got the RROD and he got the RROD to stop and has been working fine ever since. Not saying it will work but wouldn't hurt to try. MS will try to get you to do it anyway when you call them.

I took out the hard drive. I also looked for the green/yellow light on the brick. It is rrod and going back today. I thought the falcons didn't have the rrod problem.

Fewer of them do, but as with any product there will still be some that have an issue

The RROD is a generic indicator of a hardware failure. They say the falcons fixed the overheating problems but there are other issues that can happen.

Well ya learn something every day. I guess I am lucky. I have 3 and the newest is the one that has rrod. So it is a 33% thing for me.

Yeah I dont think M/S has really "fixed" anything just yet as far as putting the 65nm chips in which is what reduces the heat...could have been the clamp deal on yours though...who knows:confused: I just hope you can get it replaced.

the Falcon has a 65nm CPU and what appears to be an 80nm GPU. None of them are 90nm.
