I have a db-SW15 which is basically a 15' wooden DBX power subwoofer. It is old and I am pretty sure the 15' woofer in the enclosure is gone. I was wondering what 15' subs people would like. The box isn't ported and is powered by 150 RMS amp. I would prefer clarity over loudless. What do people think?

Thanks,

-Chris

Here is what one looks like..

Without knowing internal volume, it's tough to match up TS parameters that would work optimally in there. It is probably best that you just buy a new sub, build your own enclosure, or design a sub through WINISD that will work with a premade enclosure from parts express.

what is an in expense powered subwoofer run if I didn't fix the original? By cheap someone inexpensive that would work with the system I laid out before.

Otherwise what risking am I running if I were to replace the current sub woofer with a new one. Being that I get correct Ohm rating and impedance. I mean it sounds pretty bad right now anyways when I turn of up.

You can get speakers repaired. Search for 'speaker recone' or 'speaker reedge'. Use the " for 15 inch (15"). You are typing 15 feet (15') and I don't think you will find a speaker that large.

I'm getting a 15" woofer re-coned as I type this. $20 and I'm back in business.
