I'm finally getting around replacing my Sony D50 with maybe an RS1x or RS2 or IN83.
I'd like not to change my screen so, in your opinion, would any of these projectors work fine with 100" diagonal 1.78 from 12' on my Stewart 1.3 gain?
The room is fairly dark as it is a basement.
Any other projector to suggest in that price range?

1.3 would work very well with your projector especially at that size

Your 100 inch D 1.78 1.3 studeotech should work fine with the digital projectors you are considering. You throw distance would work I think with these projectors but I would double check. You will need the throw ratio allowable to be 1.44. Check the range in the specs.

There are lots of projectors to consider in this price range including the Sony vpl-vw60, the planar 8150, the Marantz 15S1. Beware the classic, I bought this one and I don't give a damn about what anybody says about it, its perfect, I dun see no flaws. :)

sorry sorry, I meant to say that the 1.3 gain would work great with the RS1 especially at that size. I have a 1.5 Stewart screen but my screen is 120 inches wide (2.35 aspect) and its plenty bright
