I currently own an Xbox 360 hooked up to my Panasonic plasma television. I steam some video files from my desktop computer running Windows XP Professional and the Zune software package. I have a Dell laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium that I have used to view the Windows Media Center on the Xbox 360.
But now I am looking for a solution that might keep me from having to turn on a computer every time that I want to watch a video. I have looked into the Windows Home Server platform running the HP's Media Centers but with the data corruption issue just recently being solved, I am still not positive that I want to entrust my data files with that operating system.
So I recently saw information about DNLA certified Buffalo LinkStations and other NAS devices and was considering using such a system with my current configuration. But I am sure that Xbox 360 is not a DNLA certified device.
But I did hear that there are certain programs that might allow a NAS device to download torrent files and thought that maybe there was something similar to stream my media files over to the Xbox 360.
Any thoughts?
