I just bought a Martin Logan Dynamo. Got it for 90 to 95% Home Theater use. I have the volume on the Sub at 4 and I am using the crossover in the Onkyo at 80 hz. My room is 13 x 26 x 8, concrete floor that will be carpeted in a couple of weeks and it handles itself very well. However, I rented cloverfield on Blu-Ray and during the paramount opening, it starts hitting on the Bass hard. The ML took it and rattled things but it seemed like it was at its max and did not really feel the "punch" I am still within my 30 day window and am thinking about taking it back and buying the HSU VTF-2 MK3. I have read alot about this sub's low-end punch but wonder if it is as accurate as the ML Dynamo. I don't want to trade low end extension for muddy Booms. I am looking at the HSU over the SVS only because the HSU is a little smaller. Any advice here?
If you are 90-95% HT then I would go for the HSU VTF-2 MK3. It will have more output and deeper extension. The Martin Logan may have a slight advantage in articulation but the HSU certainly isn't muddy. Beware the HSU is quite a bit larger than the Dynamo.

I too have the dynamo and I am looking at upgrading. I have an order in for the mfw15 but might cancel it and go with an SVS or hsu.

Got the Hsu VTF2 MK3 this week. It has the new black satin finish which looks really nice. In fact, it looks about the same as the Dynamo in sheen and color (Black).
As expected, this thing is huge. But that is OK for my layout.
At first, I had a hard time getting used to it as the Dynamo is a clean sub that does a great job in music and HT. The Dynamo was also a basic plug and play set up that sounded great immediately. The VTF2 takes some serious playing around with as the Bass is immense and can easily overwhelm you on bassy parts of a movie (just when you thought you got it dialed in). However, I do like the Hsu sub and have returned the Dynamo. The Hsu is not as clean as the Dynamo but it is VERY close. It easily deals with my 2700cu ft room and shakes the house. Lots of head room for sure.

If any of you guys are looking to sell your Dynamo's after you upgrade let me know. I am looking at getting a pair for a stereo setup.
