Is the 360 version of both games still better than the ps3 or has sony caught up already ?


I have both systems and always get sports games on my 360 should I keep doing this ?

I kind of want to get them for ps3 for the 1st time.

I would probably recommend that you get it for the system where you have the most Madden friends.

Minor technical details mean nothing compared to playing online against your friends IMO.

even more...if you dont have a gold membership and still wanna play online...then the PS3 is your answer.

Also, it is not about sony catching up. It is about EA sports being lazy..........

I asked my son this question saturday before putting it in the Q. he said 360 becases thats what he has always played and thats what the people on his friends list play.

I thought I read somewhere that EA was using the PS3 as the primary development platform for Madden 09, but I can't find the link now.

I believe both versions will be almost identical this year. Both will be 60fps.

Which controller do you like better? Do you have more friends on PSN or XBL?

Most of my friends have the 360 and it has more online players, so for me it is the 360. But this year they should be identical instead of a gimped ps3 version.

360= more online players, xbl costs 50$ a year.
ps3= less online players, online is free.

I'd bet that the amount of online competition for the PS3 is much better and with a lot more players this year simply because the versions are nearly identical. Since Madden '09 is on par with each other, I think a lot of hold outs from last year will be purchasing '09 on the PS3 this season, then again there are a lot of passionate EA haters (and rightfully so) these days.

fun game, don't get me wrong, but I've had it for less than 24 hours and dying for a patch. passing accuracy is off the charts and special teams are very much skewed. You'll rarely start inside your own 35 after kickoffs..tons of space. same deal on punts.

seems like ps3 caught up for some reason I wanna get madden on ps3 this year and I dont know why, It probaly cuz I loved madden on ps2.

but since xbox360 came out Ive been getting my sports games on theie but getting the RROD 3 times doesnt help

Well I played the NCAA demo on ps3 and it was the same damn game as last year. Watching the 360 footage on the tv looked like a different game. I f***ing hate EA. They make games better on the 360 than the PS3.

Don't get it on PS3 the 360 version has the benefit of AA. Like you I wanted to get it on another system. I also wanted to play against my uncle who has it on PS3. I really regret purchasing it on PS3 because of all the jaggies. :mad:

Actually the graphics are slightly improved, the campus legend is very cool and the framerate....the most important thing BY FAR....has changed.

Maybe I shouldn't use the term jaggies. The PS3 version just doesn't look as good to me. For example the numbers on the jerseys aren't as clear as on 360. The PS3 version looks too pixelated. Both versions play similar but the 360 edges out the PS3 version in the graphics department. I was just hoping the this year both versions would be identical and they aren't. :( If you have both systems the 360 version is the one to get.

agreed. also, the camera stutter during kickoffs in the ps3 version drove me crazy. the gap is much narrower this year, but ea still shafted ps3 owners...

I think the 360 will have more numbers and the official matches all seem on the 360 as well. I don't know if that is important to anyone. Ea or not, Madden is one game I buy every year. I remember the ps2 days when the long bomb worked almost too easily. Lots of high scoring games. Good times :)

I'm still trying to decide which system to get it for but I do have to disagree with some of you on the 360 looking better. I spent time comparing the demos on both last night and to me on m 1080p projector the ps3 version looked better.

I'm very frustrated with this game. Other team kicked a field goal and missed. Then somehow they retained possesion(I'm still on defense) with a 1st and 10 and end up 20 yards closer than what they were. WTF???!!!:mad::mad::mad:

definitely improved, but its still there. it does not exist on the 360 rev. also, why are ps3 rosters so hard to come by? i don't see myself playing this version very much. i do LOVE the hq surround though...

there's a partial (50% done) set of rosters on operation sports. supposed to be done this weekend. you can download the partial set now, just realize if you start a dynasty you won't be able to load in the full set when it's available, you'd have to start the dynasty over. I used them in play now last night though and they worked just fine.

has anyone figured out how to load 2 seperate profiles (one for each controller) on local 1v1 games? this is something very common and useful on the xbox 360
