I searched here and on the Lumagen site but couldn't find anyone who is having the kind of problems I am with the newest firmware (installed latest update from Lumagen site yesterday (012608)

I'm trying to set the HDP up for 1080P/24 to match my RS1's native res.

When I do this, any HDTV content from my cablebox flashes wildly. The content from my Panasonic BD-30 BR player also flashes and has weird streaking or tearing in it.

So then I tried 1080/60I and 1080/60P (mode A and B)

HDTV looks decent (smooth at least), but the content coming from my BR player is still completely unwatchable. Totally messed up - flashing and all kinds of weirdness (BR player is set to output 24fps).

When the image is still, there is no issue with the HD content from the Motorola boxes, and my Control4 menu screen is ok with any resolution/timing since there is no movement. But as soon as there is motion, the middle 1/3 of the screen flashes like crazy. Anything from the Blu-ray player is completely unwatchable in any mode (1080I/60, 1080P/60, 1080P/24), including the static manufacturer logo on startup (before playing a disc).

Any suggestions on what to try? I have read where lots of people have this combination working with pretty much default settings so I can't figure out why mine is so messed up. I've tried almost every menu setting there is but I've obviously missed the critical combination.

Path:

Sources (Xbox360, Panny BD-30, Motorola HD boxes) -->

Onkyo PR-SC885 preamp HDMI out -->

Lumagen HDP (latest firmware installed today) HDMI/DVI in/out -->

JVC RS-1 HDMI in

Is there any way to get the Lumagen to pass all resolutions through and just let my projector scale it? All I wanted is the stretch modes for the anamorphic lens.

Better yet, does anyone have the EXACT timings for the RS1/HD1?

Turn off the overscan in your projector menu. The JVC RS1 projector should work with the standard 1080p60 resolution from the LumagenHDP. Select "mode B". Try displaying the internal test patterns "Every other H line" and "Every other V line" to check that you are driving the projector in "pixel perfect" mode. From a distance you should see a uniform gray screen. If you see a larger pattern of gray bars you aren't in "pixel perfect" mode.

Try both 1080p24 and 1080p48 output on the Lumagen. Most projectors work better on one mode than the other.

To set the output of the Lumagen to 1080p48, first set the output to 1080p60 by pressing "Menu 027" (Mode B). Then change the Vrate of the output to 47.95.

To set the output of the Lumagen to 1080p24 use the VRES command in the menu. When you set the VRES to 1080 it will ask you whether you want interlaced, progressive (which uses the currently set vertical rate), 24 SF, or 24 P. This is the only method allowed for setting the vertical rate to 24Hz. You should select "24P".

Hi Randy,

Why mode B with the RS1? Just curious. My RS1 works with both A and B.

Here : http://www.pixelmagicforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3004&highlight=1080p24

You will found the exact timings for RS1/HD1 in 1080P50,60 and 24 Hz

I use it with my crystalio II and HD1 and it work very well.
