Hey guys was wondering if i could buy the 160GB WD passport external and open it up and pop it in my PS3.

it is a 2.5" sata HDD in the enclosure right?

I don't know about that. It depends on the actual thickness of the drive also.

What is the reason you would want this particular drive? Price? I got a 320 GB WD Scorpio for $72 shipped on ebay.

i'm just looking to upgrade my HDD on my PS3 so whats the model you got? i have $75 to waste so what the best compatible HDD i can get on ebay or anywhere else?

well i found a video of a passport in a PS3 so i bought it!

I've thought about doing the same. You should be able to put your original PS3 HD in the new enclosure. For whatever reason, the passports can be found cheaper than the same size boxed WD drive.
