Innovative, Lyric and Stereo Exchange. All decent places. Choose the one that is most convenient or call to see if they have them on demo and/or in stock.

Kal,
do you know whether any of these shops let you do in-home auditions ?
I only tried with Earsnova, what a terrible experience. The speed with which he was trying to take my $16k was disturbing, but when I asked about in home audition, wow, his jaws dropped ...
thx

thxDunno. I get my in-home auditions direct. ;) In addition, I have never been a 'customer' at any of them. OTOH, a few phone calls might reveal all.

Out of the three Kal mentions I have only done business with Stereo Exchange. My personal experience with them would suggest an in-home audition isn't likely but it has been a year or so and perhaps the recent trends in the economy have taken some of the rough edges off the treatment I received. Then again I wasn't spending $16k either (not that they were aware of at any rate.)
I auditioned some gear at Innovative Audio Video (150 East 58th Street) and had a great experience with them. They sell both Rotel and B&W. You should call for an appointment first if you'd like to hear specific models (212-634-4444.) Unfortunately the timing didn't work out for me to purchase from them but I would prefer to deal with them versus Stereo Exchange on every level except for the convenience of walking in off the street and browsing.

i've been to innovative and stereo exchange a few times over the years. the guys at stereo exchange have some of the worst customer service i've seen. for them to put down their whopper and fries and acknowledge me when i come up to the desk to ask a question would be a miracle.
innovative has always been first class.
Audiocom in Greenwich would be another dealer---and probably the best of the bunch mentioned.
Stereo Exchange is one the worst hifi shops in the country in my experience.

Wow, can't say I share the same experience these guys have had with Stereo Exchange. They've been good to me and always treated me with respect.

I've had very pleasant experiences dealing with Audiocom in the past. Great bunch of guys. They are willing to move a little on pricing as well...

Several months ago I visited stereo exchange to audition the B&W 803D`s. I had to practically beg the salesman to hook them up and he made me feel like he was doing me a favor ! I purchased them from Talk of the Town in Hoboken, great service and highly recommended.
