My situation is this, I work on site and am away from home 3-4 weeks at a time. The place I stay has standard cable but we do have high speed internet. I have a Sony Vaio with HDMI out and am getting a 32" Toshiba Regza 1080p LCD to leave in my room.

I want something that I can connect at home and control my dvr and stream is out to my tv through my laptop. I would like to get the highest quality stream for under $300. My first thought is a Slingbox but it appears more and more companies are making this equipment so I want to make sure I am buying the latest and greatest (in my budget). Thanks,
