I have a 200watt 8ohm amp for playing bass. Can I use that to power home theater speakers even if I am using a crossover? If I'm not using a crossover? Also how will it sound compared to home stereo amps? Another question is what's the difference between a bass/guitar amp speaker compared to home theater speakers? I know home theater speakers can't withstand a constant frequency like a bass/guitar speaker can. Do home theater speakers have a quicker response or clearer sound? Why not just use bass/guitar speakers for home theaters?

Bass/guitar speakers are designed and built for a defined/limited frequency range with high output and efficiency in the midbass. Whether your "200watt 8ohm amp for playing bass" would suffice for home audio depends on the amp itself. What is it?

Its a BX-200 CrateI'd leave it in the crate. I googled it and found mostly for-sale ads with the same fuzzy pix and mixed comments on it for its intended application. From what I can tell, it is a garden variety amp with an excess of controls. The most optimistic thing I can say is that it will probably make sounds but it won't really work for HT or subwoofer.
