Box shape aside, is there any major difference between these two players?
Is the newer one less stable than the older?
The 2 main differences I noticed with the newer 7000 was an RFX engine and a NAS...
I tried out another media streamer and sent it back because it lacked quite a few features that I felt would annoy me over time. I decided on Tvix because it seems to be getting great reviews all around and I would rather spend $450 on a unit that does everything I want than $250 on a unit with limited capabilities.

$50 more just to have a cylinder shape?!
I'll take the square one...

6500 has alluminum front only and then plastic.
7000 if full alluminum design and different shaped hardware inside... but indded, it's for design only you pay the extra's as the rest is the same...

And maybe it (7000) has less heat issues...

The heat issue's are fixed with the 6500A's, originaly they didn't have a fan.

The Main/Only difference is the 7000 can act as a NAS server with an installed harddrive.

They both have that RFX engine (whatever is does).

Heatsink maybe...? Anyway, for sure they say they've made it...Mmm, less worse :D

I like my 6500 as it is very portable. Buy an extra Power and HDMI cable ;)
