In the course of shopping for a plasma, I have gotten several estimates of the cost of hanging the 50 inch plasma on the wall, installing 3 in-wall speakers (I already have rear speakers), running all wires in the wall, and installing an electrical outlet behind the TV (I have absolutely no interest in doing this work myself). I've gotten 4 estimates for this work - 3 from stores where I might buy the TV, and 1 from someone who would just do the install. The estimates are all coming in around $700-$900.

Does this sound reasonable to people?

With four estimates, that must be what the work will cost.

Paid about 800 myself for similar installation from a thouroughly professional installer. . .sounds about right.

Yes that sounds about right. $500 for plasma and $300-$400 for 5 speaker install.
