Help please my theater was flooded so I am in the process of redoing everyhting. I have a 5.1 bose system (no comments please) and originally had the front surround mounted on the wall but I am going with a bigger screen and really need the room. So I was wanting to put them in the ceiling and direct them down. Good idea or not? Room dimensions about 13x15 ceiling height is about 8ft. no windows anywhere.

First, if you're "redoing everything" why not get something other than Bose?
Second, what is a "front surround"? Are you referring to the Front L/R's or to the "Side Surrounds"?
Third, were is the seating in relation to the speakers?

If you must put them at the ceiling then just make sure they are pointing toward where you are seated. Not just straight down. Is it ideal? No but you will still enjoy your movies.

well first it's not in the budget right now to replace the Bose system second yes I am referring to front left and right third the seating is about 10 to 12 feet from screen. I can mount them next to the screen but I would like to go with a bigger screen but not if I have to sacrifice sound (by putting it the ceiling). thanks for any help and advice.
